Psychologist Acquitted of Failing to Report Child Abuse

"A Fresno Municipal Court jury on Tuesday acquitted a Fresno psychologist of a charge that he failed immediately to report the sexual abuse of an 8-year old patient... Defense attorney Richard Berman believes that the Fresno case was the first test of a 1981 state law requiring health-care providers to report "reasonable suspicion of abuse" of children under their care."
